Your mental health is just as important as your physical wellbeing yet it’s something many of us tend to overlook. Whether you’re feeling anxious, stressed, low in mood or simply not yourself, reaching out to your GP can be a powerful first step toward feeling better.
The good news is that early detection can make a huge difference. Spotting the signs early often means treatment can be simpler, less invasive, and much more effective. Not sure what to look for? Here are 7 early signs of skin cancer on the face you should never ignore.
In this guide, we explain everything you need to know about the Medicare 75+ Health Assessment, from what’s involved to how it can benefit you or your loved one.
Hiccups are sudden, involuntary movements of the diaphragm, the muscle just below your lungs that helps you breathe. When this muscle spasms, it causes your vocal cords to close quickly, creating the familiar “hic” sound. Most hiccups are brief and harmless, often resolving on their own.
North Brighton Medical has officially endorsed the YES campaign in the 2023 referendum for the establishment of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament in the Australian Constitution.
We're excited to announce that the doctors at our practice now use BetterConsult to help you get the most out of your appointment.
BetterConsult is a "smart" pre-consultation questionnaire that asks the questions your doctor usually asks about the reason for your visit. It then prepares a summary for your doctor.
We advise that from 8 March 2021, we will no longer routinely bulk bill children and pensioners, as we move to being a fully private billing clinic.
We will introduce a discounted fee, with the out-of-pocket cost for a standard consult being $22 (up-front cost of $60.75 with Medicare rebate of $38.75).
Children and aged pensioners will continue to be bulk billed for scheduled immunisations and simple follow-up appointments.
Discounted fees will not be available on weekends and public holidays.
In addition, our standard fees will increase slightly for the first time since we opened the clinic more than 3 years ago. The out-of-pocket cost for a standard consult will be $44 (up-front cost of $82.75 with Medicare rebate of $38.75).
North Brighton Medical is now able to send patients electronic presciptions (also known as eScripts) under a new initiative of the Australian government in conjunction with the states and territories.
If you need a presciption, then during your consultation (especially if you have a phone consult), your GP will be able to SMS or email you a link to a QR or barcode token.
Then, you simply take your smartphone to a local pharmacy (provided that they have eScripts enabled, which most do), and they will scan the token and then fill your prescription.

We currently have flu vaccines available for ALL patients. Stocks are limited, so book online or call us on 03 8506 9949 to avoid missing out.
We advise that we now have flu vaccines in stock for all patients aged over 6 months, including both government and private stock.
We ask that you book your appointment online if possible so that you can see the available times and book suitable slots for you and your family. A separate flu vaccine appointment needs to be booked for each family member who needs a vaccine.
